Well, finally the day was upon us, Joe & Helena are close friends and it was such an honour to play such a big part in their special day..the photographer!!
We, (myself and my wonderful assistant Hannah Beatrice) started the day next door to the church (as that's where they live!), getting ready. It was so relaxed and lots of yummy food provided even though I'd already eaten so was full. When I saw the dress in the flesh for the first time I was taken aback, it was completely perfect for Helena and a gorgeous style I'd not seen before, provided by Augusta Jones, breath taking!
She was surrounded by the most incredible flowers too, created by the Traditional Flower Company, all very seasonal, and smelling delicious!

The girls were advised to take a deep breath before going in..I think we all did, I was so excited and nervous all rolled into one!! There was a VERY proud Joe wearing a Scott & Taylor suit, waiting at the top of church, the smile was a little wobbly as he set eyes on his beautiful bride for the first time and held back his tears!
It was lovely having Hannah posted at the front of the church so she was able to grab these gorgeous shots full of emotion (...thanks Hannah!!)
There was SO much laughter during the service, everyone had so much fun!!
...and of course, a celebratory high five!!
Then it was back to Gawsworth Hall, an ancient Cheshire Manor House situated in the gorgeous Macclesfield, Cheshire area.
I love using a couple of props here and there if we have time, to make the pictures look unique and extra special!
My gorgeous husband was one of the ushers...far right doing the lunges, so we got to hang out for most of the day (until he to rush off to a gig that evening...don't worry, Joe knew about it!)
Perfect idea...hanging up photos of all the guests as they've known them over the years..some older than others. People so enjoyed finding their piccie along the rows!
The speeches were amazing...again loads of laughter and a few tears...Helena actually raised the loudest laugh..good on you girl!!
These brownies were made by Lauren Jones who works at a gorgeous little cafe called Art of Tea in Didsbury, and then they were arranged by Helena's Dad, Simon. They looked gorgeous, and were DELICIOUS!!
Lucky me got to devour one (and gorgeous sausages and mash provided by Barretts Event Caterers, based in Cheadle before hand...yummy!) I have to add that it was the most smoothly run catering service I have encountered. They were fast, efficient, clean and incredibly professional, I would definitely recommend them on!
I do love fashion photography as well as wedding, so I was excited to try out these shots with Helena...I think they look a little Vogue wedding, don't you think?!
Then onto the dancing, and MORE eating! ...music provided by the most excellent Matty Hoolio, dj extraordinaire...had everyone up on the dance floor, and played the biggest tunes to end the night so everyone left with great memories!
What a wonderful day, thanks so much for letting me take these photos and help you to remember it for the rest of your life!!
